Osea is an area of special scientific interest and a safe sanctuary for birds and marine life. We aim to make our Island sustainable and are always looking at new ways to cut carbon emissions and be environmentally friendly.
Our projects range from eco lighting and natural ventilation in our event venues to using local suppliers and emissions cutting transport, working towards becoming a sustainable destination.
Osea Island recognises the increasing importance of sustainable methods of developing a business and applies methods of working that ensures we are protecting and restoring our natural resources and landscape.
Our current projects centre around waste and water management, food production, energy supply, hosting sustainable events and ground and land management.
We take the preservation of our natural beauty and the habitat of wildlife very seriously. Our island team works tirelessly to maintain the grounds and properties whilst being innovative in their approach to conservation.
From the small steps in building an eco kids playground, planting organic vegetable patches, caring for our resident animals to a considerable investment on a sustainable energy programme, we are on path to be a more sustainable business.
A Biomass programme is being developed, which will use wood grown on Osea and then chipped in our sawmill, to fuel Biomass boilers that will distribute heating and hot water to our properties.
Throughout the year, Osea Island hosts some of the most exclusive events in the UK.
Our aim is to drive these events towards becoming 100% sustainable. From sourcing the best local suppliers in order to reduce carbon emissions, through to using fully recyclable materials, we work with our partners to have sustainability at the core of their events.
